Frequently asked questions.

Do you use subcontractors?

We will sometimes use subcontractors for specific work like electrical or engineering but generally we do all of our own work. This simplifies the build process, reduces communication issues, and saves the customer money on subcontractor mark up fees.

Do you have a shop?

Yes, we have a 1000sqft fully functioning workshop in Blue Mounds.

How long have you been remodeling?

In 2016, started building furniture and taking on small remodeling projects as a side job to working in solar energy. Eventually the side projects started getting in the way of my main job and I left being a project manager in commercial solar to do remodeling full time. Since then I have grown to take on bigger projects mostly focused on residential remodeling.

Do you do exterior work?

No, typically we focus on interior remodeling, built-ins, cabinetry, and furniture.

Are you licensed?

Yes, both the business and owner are licensed. 2166 - DCFR

Are you a member of any associations?

Currently we are members of the Mount Horeb Chamber of Commerce and are deciding whether to join NARI or the Madison Builders Association.

Do you do furniture or remodeling?

Both! As much as we would love to just stay in the shop and build furniture all day long our main focus is remodeling. Especially studios, basements, bathrooms, built-ins, and cabinetry.

What is your design approach?

Our design approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on how people really live. We start by listening and asking questions to understand how clients use their space, what matters most to them, and how they want their home to work for them. We believe great spaces should balance function with the personality and values of the people who live in them.

We work closely with clients to navigate their budget needs by walking them through material options, building methods, and sustainable choices, helping them make informed decisions that balance cost, quality, and long-term value. We don’t just show up and ask you what you want. We work hard to help you understand the pros and cons of different material and design choices as well as how and why your project is being built the way it is.

From refining inspiration images to creating clear plans, timelines, and estimates, we guide each project from concept through installation and take pride in making sure you always understand what’s going on. Whether it’s custom furniture, built-ins, or a full interior remodel, our goal is to create thoughtful, functional spaces that support everyday life.

Do you charge for design?

For smaller projects like furniture or or built-ins we will help you with the design as part of the total cost of the project. For larger projects like a basement or bathroom remodel where we are doing a complete renovation of the space we will charge a design fee. This is usually $400. This will include making a complete picture of what the renovated space is going to look like as well as a categorized breakdown of the cost of the project.

How do you determine the cost for a project?

We track the actual time and material costs of past projects that allow us to give accurate estimates of future ones. Like any business we factor overhead and wages to determine daily labor costs. Then we use this information along with the labor and material needs of your project to give you an estimate. Our estimates are broken down by sections so it can easily be changed based on what your needs are.
