22.5” tall x 20’5” diameter
This is from a series of pieces where I was working with rammed earth. Rammed earth is usually a mixture of clay, sand, and dirt that is rammed together in shallow layers to create a compact form. It’s a building material that predates concrete and has been used to build walls and other structures for thousands of years. With this particular coffee table I made three asymmetrical pillars and finished them with a travertine style plaster. The golden yellow plaster is a catching contrast to the walnut base and top. Also, the asymmetrical pattern draws your attention to the base rather than being easily overlooked.
It’s 22.5” tall x 20.5 diameter and weighs about fifty pounds.
