Cantilever Rammed Earth Table

This is from a series of pieces where I was working with rammed earth. Rammed earth is usually a mixture of clay, sand, and dirt that is rammed together in shallow layers to create a compact form. It’s a building material that predates concrete and has been used to build walls and other structures for thousands of years.

This cantilever coffee table is centered around a monolithic rammed earth base that supports a figured walnut top. The slight color variations of the natural rammed earth allow you to see the different layers.

The dimensions are: 18.5” high x 15.5” wide x 32.5” long and weighs about 80 pounds.
