Counter Weight Benches

$500.00

This is from a series of pieces where I was working with rammed earth. Rammed earth is usually a mixture of clay, sand, and dirt that is rammed together in shallow layers to create a compact form. It’s a building material that predates concrete and has been used to build walls and other structures for thousands of years. This is one of two benches or end tables that can be purchased individually or as a set. Inspired by George Nakashima, these benches a fitted with a counterweight that becomes part of the surface. The quarter sawn red oak compliments the lines of the benches.

Each one is: 17.5” tall x 36” long x 14.5” wide and each one is $500 the set is $800.
